What conditions need to be met to receive maternity allowance
I. Insured employees are eligible to receive maternity insurance benefits in accordance with the regulations when they simultaneously meet the following conditions:
I.) they comply with the provisions of national, provincial and municipal family planning policies;

II) at the time of delivery or family planning surgery, the employer has participated in maternity insurance for the employee and has paid maternity insurance premiums in full for 12 months.
3) For prenatal examination fees and delivery expenses, the person concerned will bring his/her marriage certificate, social security card (citizen card) and the birth control certificate issued by the street to the designated hospital for maternity insurance to settle the bill directly by credit card.
Declaring the maternity allowance and one-time nutritional allowance, the person must fill in the Maternity Insurance Benefits Declaration Form with the official seal of the unit, provide the marriage certificate, one-child certificate (for the child), hospital discharge summary and other documents, and go to the Maternity Section of the Municipal Health Insurance Center on the working days between the 1st and 10th of each month to go through the procedures of declaration. (Relevant procedures should be handled within one year after delivery)
2. How to receive maternity allowance
1. After pregnancy, bring your household register, marriage certificate, ID card and other relevant documents to the social security operator of your unit to submit them, and the operator will help you to register for maternity insurance medical care, and to determine the hospital for the maternity checkups and the birth of the child.
2. At the same time, apply for the birth certificate.
3. Bring the medical registration form to the hospital when you give birth, so that it is convenient for the social security bureau and the hospital to check and settle the bill.
4. After giving birth to a child, apply for the relevant certificates, and then bring the medical registration form, hospital discharge summary (stamped with official seal), marriage certificate, family register, ID card and other relevant documents, and then the unit operator will apply for the maternity allowance at the social security bureau.

Article 54 of the Social Insurance Law of the People's Republic of China
If the employer has paid the maternity insurance premiums, its employees are entitled to the maternity insurance benefits; and the unemployed spouses of the employees are entitled to the treatment of the maternity medical expenses in accordance with the state regulations. The required funds are paid from the Maternity Insurance Fund.
Maternity insurance benefits include maternity medical expenses and maternity allowance.
