The social security card has no money. Do I have to pay for medical treatment?

Legal analysis: No need. The balance on the medical insurance card has nothing to do with medical insurance reimbursement, but the balance on the medical insurance card can be used to pay medical expenses. No money in the medical insurance card will not affect the reimbursement expenses. Even if there is no money in the medical insurance card, as long as the social security is paid continuously, the medical insurance will be in a normal state and you can continue to enjoy medical reimbursement. However, the self-paid part can only be paid by cash/bank card/scan code, and cannot be paid in advance from the medical insurance card.

Legal basis: Article 28 of the Social Insurance Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) conforms to the basic medical insurance drug list, diagnosis and treatment items, medical service facilities standards and emergency and rescue medical expenses, and shall be paid from the basic medical insurance fund in accordance with state regulations.
