Is the money from the medical insurance card social security money?

Social security card balance is different from medical insurance card balance, but social security card balance includes medical insurance card balance.

The social security card has two accounts, namely the social security account and the financial account, among which:

1. A financial account is similar to a bank card. After activation, the cardholder can use it as a bank card to deposit money, withdraw money, transfer money and spend money through the credit card. If it is necessary to activate the financial account, the cardholder generally needs to bring his ID card and social security card to the issuing bank outlets for activation procedures;

2. The social security account includes five insurance functions: pension, medical care, work injury, unemployment and maternity.

Therefore, the balance of social security card actually includes the balance of financial account and social security account.

Medical insurance accounts included in social security accounts can be divided into two types: overall accounts and individual accounts, among which:

1. medical insurance pooling account: medical insurance for urban employees is paid by both employers and employees, with employers paying 8% and employees paying 2%. Among them, part of the premiums paid by the employer will all enter the overall account. The money in the overall account is mainly to reimburse the insured for the hospitalization expenses in the medical insurance. Generally speaking, the money in the medical insurance card co-ordination account cannot be taken out;

2. Personal medical insurance account: The Medical Insurance Bureau will transfer 2% of the medical insurance premiums paid by employees into the personal medical insurance account. The money in personal account can be mainly used to pay out-of-pocket medical expenses, outpatient expenses, pharmacy credit card shopping and so on. Generally speaking, the money in the personal account of the medical insurance card can't be taken out at will, but if the insured person dies and goes abroad to settle down, then you can apply for taking out the money in the personal account. It should be noted that only urban workers' medical insurance has personal accounts, while urban and rural residents' medical insurance has no personal accounts.
