20 19 is the old social security card still available?

Before the new social security card is activated, the old medical insurance card can continue to be used.

To activate the medical insurance card:

1, take the old card and the new card to the bank;

2. The password of the new medical insurance card is a six-digit number starting from the second digit of the ID number from the back to the front, and the password can be reset at the same time of activation;

3. Part of the money (from the old card) can be withdrawn (or used as the cost of swiping the card in the future), and it cannot be taken out regardless;

4. After the old card is activated, the new card can no longer be used (it will be processed at the same time when activated).

Steps to use the medical insurance card:

1. When the money in the medical insurance card is used to buy medicine, it will be directly deducted from the medical insurance card. If there is enough money in the card, there is no need to pay cash. Not a discount card like a membership card. To put it bluntly, it is the money you paid in, so the money in the card belongs to you, only for special purposes, and can only be used to buy medicine and treat diseases, and can also be inherited.

2. Hospitalization or drug purchase Not all medical care and drugs can be paid by medical insurance card, which depends on the local medical insurance catalogue. The purchased drugs and medical treatment items must be in the local medical insurance catalogue before they can be paid by medical insurance card. If the purchased drugs are not in the local medical insurance catalogue (that is, self-funded drugs and self-funded medical treatment items), they cannot be paid by medical insurance cards, and medical insurance cards can only be used in hospitals or pharmacies designated by local medical insurance centers.
