Chengdu social security medical insurance contribution regulations

This mainly depends on when the participant began to participate in medical insurance, since January 1, 2009 before the implementation of the new health insurance law and after the implementation of the retirement age when the medical insurance contribution requirements are not the same.

According to the provisions of the Measures for Basic Medical Insurance for Urban Workers in Chengdu City:

Article 16 (Contribution period)

The contribution period is implemented in accordance with the following provisions:

(1) Before the implementation of the Measures (effective January 1, 2009), the units and individual industrial and commercial enterprises with employees have participated in the basic medical insurance for urban workers in Chengdu City, and have continuously made contributions to the basic medical insurance for urban workers. Continuous and uninterrupted contributions to reach the statutory retirement age and in accordance with the relevant provisions of the state and provincial, municipal retirement procedures by the relevant departments, receive a pension, no longer pay the basic medical insurance premiums, continue to enjoy the basic medical insurance benefits;

(b) the implementation of these measures (since January 1, 2009 shall come into force), has participated in the city's basic medical insurance for urban workers of state-owned enterprises, collective enterprises and institutions Institutions, bankruptcy, restructuring or institutional reform, the termination of the labor relationship with the original unit of the employees, should be uninterrupted participation in the individual status of urban workers' basic medical insurance, contributions to the statutory retirement age and in accordance with the relevant provisions of the state and provincial and municipal retirement procedures by the relevant departments to receive a pension, no longer pay the basic medical insurance premiums, to continue to enjoy the basic medical insurance benefits;

If the cumulative period of paying basic medical insurance premiums is less than 15 years, the person shall continue to pay the premiums until the cumulative period of paying premiums reaches 15 years in accordance with the regulations;

(e) After the implementation of these Measures (effective from January 1, 2009), the person who participates in the basic medical insurance for urban workers in the city for the first time, and who has paid the premiums for a total of 15 years or a total of 20 years without interruption, and who has reached the statutory retirement age, and has received a pension after going through the retirement procedures by relevant departments in accordance with the relevant provisions of the state, provinces, or cities. After reaching the legal retirement age and receiving pension according to the relevant regulations of the state, province and city, they will no longer have to pay the basic medical insurance premiums. Those who have paid basic medical insurance premiums continuously for less than 15 years or have accumulated basic medical insurance premiums for less than 20 years shall continue to pay the premiums according to the regulations until the number of consecutive years of contribution reaches 15 or the number of accumulated years of contribution reaches 20.
