How to use PS to make social security photos

Taking this picture as an example, this paper explains how to use PS to carry out matting, beauty and background change, so as to complete the production of ID photos.

Principle of photo selection

As a photo, the premise is to ensure that the five senses are clearly visible, so if your photos cover the five senses, then these photos cannot be selected.

In addition, if you want to make post-processing more convenient and not embarrass yourself, you'd better choose a photo with a big contrast between the characters and the background.

For example, the following one.

If there is no such photo, you can find a white wall or green curtain as the background and take a high-definition photo with a digital camera.

It should be noted here that the clothes or skin color you wear should not be too close to the background color. The greater the contrast, the better for our post-processing.

So here we choose such a photo.

The characters in this photo have clear facial features and are relatively correct. Although the background is somewhat close to the color of the characters, the background is vague and the subject can still be clearly highlighted.

Then we open the PS and drag the photos directly to the PS workspace. cutout

There is a hidden rule in PS design: it is to beautify the material without destroying the original material.

"background layer", and then press "CTRL+J" on the keyboard to copy another layer of backup.

Next, all our operations are carried out on the basis of "1 layer", so as not to destroy the original material.

Because we want to change the background, we have to cut the number.

Then let's deal with the most troublesome part first, that is, the hair of the character.

We can see that girls' hair is irregular and crooked, and some places have missed the background. It is simply unrealistic to draw a hair one by one with a pen.

Here I'm going to teach you a very simple and easy-to-use skill, so that you can quickly pull your hair out of the background without 1 minute.

First, we find the "Quick Selection Tool" on the menu bar on the left. PSCS6 is the fourth in the sequence. Click it.

Then we will see the mouse turn into a circle with a cross icon in it, and then press and hold the left mouse button to select the face and hair area of people.

When choosing the area, you only need to roughly include the hair part, and you don't have to choose too fine. This is also the advantage of this matting method.

When all of them are selected, we can see that there is a button called "Adjust Edge" on the top menu (other versions may have other names) and we have selected it.

After that, a setting window will pop up, and our matting is also carried out in this part.

This window is mainly divided into four parts. The first section is view mode, which can be switched between white background and black background or overlay mode, mainly according to the color of the object.

Like the picture above, it is suitable to use more black background, which can make the white of the background more obvious and facilitate our adjustment.

The second is edge detection, which is the core part of this function. It can automatically identify the boundary with large contrast between two colors, thus removing the background.

As can be seen from the demonstration process in the above picture, with the expansion of the radius, the white area is shrinking, and finally the character's hair is clearly displayed.

The third edge adjustment is to fine-tune the adjusted effect, or you can set it yourself to see what will happen.

The purification color of the fourth board is similar to the edge detection of the second board, and the final "output to" is the output cutting diagram.

However, in the actual operation process, we still prefer to use the mouse to deal with the matting area. In the edge adjustment mode, we can use the mouse to smear the edge position of hair to remove the background.

After repeated smearing, most of the white background was removed and the hair was clearly displayed.

Then we can fine-tune it by adjusting the lower edge, such as "moving the edge", and shrink the edge inward a little, so that the white of the edge can be removed.

If you feel that some places are still white, you can use the "purification color" in the output below to make fine adjustments.

Finally, we want to export this part by selecting "Create a new layer using layer mask" in "Export to".

At this point, in the lower right layer window, there is another layer.

After that, we will key the body parts of the characters, and we will use the pen tool to determine the constituency in another way.

The location of the pen tool is in the left menu bar, numbered 15, and the icon is a pen pattern. After we choose it, the mouse becomes a pen pattern.

Then in "Layer 1", we aim at the point to draw the selected part, and drag with the mouse to turn the line into a curve.

If you are unfamiliar with the curve, you can also use straight lines, so you need to establish more points to ensure the change of the curve.

Finally, our aiming point at the end point should be connected with the starting seedling point to establish our constituency.

Then we press "Ctrl+Enter" on the keyboard to change the selected area into a selection, and then click "Add layer mask" under the layer panel in the lower right corner to extract the body part.

If you want to see the effect of matting, just turn off your eyes in front of the background layer above and you can see the effect of matting.

Web page luminescence

Since it is a photo, of course we want to be beautiful. So we can complete simple beautification through some settings in PS.

Let's start with the "blush" part.

Similarly, in order to avoid destroying the original material, we need to create a new layer to operate, so that whatever we do on this layer will not affect the original material.

Under the Layers panel, find the "New Layer" button to create a new layer and name it "Blush".

Then on the left side of the menu bar, we found the "brush tool", which is the eighth in the sequence. Select a blush color, such as pink, in the color panel on the right.

At the top of the menu bar, we can set the brush size and brush style ourselves.

On the Layers panel, we need to change the blending mode of the layer from "normal" to "soft light", so that when we draw the color, it will be softer and keep the bottom layer of the skin visible.

We can set the transparency lower, say, 25%, which will be adjusted according to the specific effect.

After setting, we can make up the character, add a blush to the character, and make her face look ruddy.

If you feel dissatisfied, because it is a new layer, you can erase it directly with the eraser tool. No matter how you play, it won't affect the original material.

After the setting is completed, you can close your eyes in front of the blush layer and compare an effect before and after adding blush.

If you think the blush is too red, you can adjust the transparency and weaken the color on the layer panel.

Then we put a lipstick on her.

Similarly, in order to avoid destroying the original material, we built a new layer and named it "lipstick".

Then we also use the pen tool to frame the girl's lips, and on the layer panel, find the "New Fill or Adjust Layer" button.

It is the fourth icon from left to right at the bottom of the above picture, a circle of yin and yang.

Choose a solid color fill, and then we can find a lipstick color that matches this girl. Similarly, we should change "normal" to "soft light" in layer blending mode.

After adjustment, we can also close the eyes in front of the lipstick layer panel and compare the difference between lipstick and lipstick.

If you think the color is not good-looking, you can double-click the lipstick layer to re-select the color. And if the color is too dark, you can also adjust the transparency and reduce the brightness of the color.

Change the background of characters

After the character is cut out and the beauty is finished, the last step is to change the background of the character and cut it into the size of the photo.

First, we need to create a new canvas window. The size of an inch ID photo is 2.5 cm X3.5 cm, so we should also set the canvas to this size.

The following resolution is also very important, which determines whether our pictures are high-definition. If you want to print, the resolution (DPI) should be above 300.

After the setting is completed, you can click OK.

After that, we will pack all the effects we have done before and move them to this canvas.

Before packing, remember to turn off our eyes in front of the background layer, otherwise a picture will be combined with our own background.

Then we press Ctrl+Shift+Alt+E on the keyboard, and we can merge all the previous effects into one layer.

Then we select the merged layer, drag it to the second tab with the mouse, wait for the picture to jump to the second window, and then let go.

Then we hold down the Shift key on the keyboard and drag a top corner of the picture to zoom the picture to a suitable size.

After adjustment, we will set the background color.

The background of the photo is mainly divided into red and blue. Red is usually used for marriage, and blue is usually used for business.

The RGB value of red is (r: 255) (g: 0) (b: 0); The value of CMYK is (C:0 )(M:99)(Y: 100)(K:0).

The RGB value of blue is (r: 0) (g:191) (b: 243); The value of CMYK is (C:67 )(M:2)(Y:0)(K:0).

RGB is the color displayed on the computer screen, while CMYK is the printed color. If you want to print, you should use CMYK color scheme.

Here we use RGB blue.

If your background layer is locked at first, that is, there is a lock on the layer, then double-click the background layer to make it a normal layer.

Then select the "New Fill or Adjust Layer" button on the Layers panel, the fourth icon above.

Choose a solid color, and then we can input the above parameters in the RGB custom module to change the color of the background.

Finally, we can export the picture by selecting the file in the top menu bar and saving it as.

That is the whole process of selecting, matting, beautifying, cutting and changing the background of a photo. PS function seems complicated, but as long as you follow the method step by step, it is not as difficult as you think.
