Legal analysis: 1. First, apply for a birth certificate in the hospital where the child was born, and then bring the child's birth certificate and ID card to the local police station (nanny or mother can do it) to apply for a household registration book or add a household registration book for the child.

Then the down payment of newborn social security needs to be paid by the social security office in the local administrative service hall, and the staff of the social security bureau will issue a payment certificate. 3. Bring the proof of payment, the child's household registration book, a one-inch photo with a white background to the local bank, and fill out the form to apply for a medical insurance card. 4. Because it takes a long time to make the social security card, if you need it urgently, you can first set up a temporary medical insurance card in the social security card handling information center in the administrative service hall, with a time limit of three months, and you can replace it when it expires.

Legal basis: Article 58 of the Social Insurance Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) stipulates that the employer shall apply to the social insurance agency for social insurance registration for employees within 30 days from the date of employment. If the social insurance has not been registered, the social insurance agency shall verify the social insurance premium it should pay. Employees-free individual industrial and commercial households who voluntarily participate in social insurance, part-time employees who do not participate in social insurance in the employing unit and other flexible employees shall apply to the social insurance agency for social insurance registration. The state establishes a national unified personal social security number. Personal social security number is a citizen's identity number.
