Article 7 of the Trial Measures for Maternity Insurance for Enterprise Employees

After a female worker gives birth to a child or has a miscarriage, the female worker or the enterprise in which the female worker is employed shall, in possession of a certificate of family planning issued by the local family-planning department, and a certificate of the birth, death, or miscarriage of the child, go to the local social insurance agency for formalities to receive a maternity allowance and to be reimbursed for the maternity medical expenses.

Article 8

The Maternity Insurance Fund shall be collected, disbursed and managed by the social insurance administrative organization under the labor department.

The Maternity Insurance Fund shall be deposited in a special account of the Maternity Insurance Fund opened by the social insurance agency in a bank. The bank shall accrue interest at the same period deposit rate for urban and rural residents' personal savings, and the interest earned shall be transferred to the maternity insurance fund.
