Newborns must first register for medical insurance. Newborn guardians need to hold a copy of the newborn household registration book and a one-inch photo of the newborn, fill in the registration form of basic medical insurance for urban residents in the community neighborhood Committee where the household registration is located, and after being signed and sealed by the handling personnel, send the registration form to the residents' section of the municipal medical insurance center to make social security cards and pay medical insurance fees.

You need to bring your household registration book (a copy of the first page and the child's household registration page), your parents' ID card (a copy of both sides) and an inch photo of the newborn with a blue background or a red background (needed in some places) to the street or community labor security office where your household registration is located to go through the insurance formalities. It takes more than a month from going through the insurance formalities to getting the newborn medical insurance card. Generally speaking, any newborn born within 12 months can be insured at any time.
