Scope of social security reimbursement for newborns

Legal analysis: 1. Outpatient medical expenses: After the insured has purchased children's medical insurance, the outpatient medical expenses incurred in designated medical institutions due to common diseases or serious illnesses can be reimbursed. Among them, "serious diseases" mainly include leukemia, hemophilia, malignant tumor, aplastic anemia and organ transplantation. 2. Special drug expenses: insured children can apply for reimbursement of children's medical insurance if they have special drug expenses that meet the requirements within a medical year. 3. Hospitalization medical expenses: If the insured child needs emergency treatment due to illness, if the hospital being treated is a medical institution established by the relevant department, the hospitalization medical expenses incurred during this period can be reimbursed according to the prescribed proportion. The medical expenses incurred must conform to the basic medical insurance and medical insurance for serious illness of students and children, the list of medical treatment items and the scope of medical service facilities.

Legal basis: Article 28 of the Social Insurance Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) conforms to the basic medical insurance drug list, diagnosis and treatment items, medical service facilities standards and emergency and rescue medical expenses, and shall be paid by the basic medical insurance fund according to state regulations.
