TB reimbursement policy 2023

The reimbursement policy for tuberculosis in 2023 is the national policy of giving tuberculosis patients free chest X-ray examination 1 time and 6 months later, and taking anti-tuberculosis drugs free of charge every month.

Some drugs for tuberculosis need to be paid by themselves. If there is medical insurance, most liver protection drugs are reimbursed. Article 28 of the Social Insurance Law: Medical expenses that meet the basic medical insurance drug list, diagnosis and treatment items, medical service facilities standards and emergency rescue shall be paid by the basic medical insurance fund in accordance with state regulations.

Twenty-ninth insured medical expenses should be paid by the basic medical insurance fund, by the social insurance agencies, medical institutions and pharmaceutical business units directly settled. The administrative department of social insurance and the administrative department of health shall establish a settlement system for medical expenses in different places to facilitate the insured to enjoy the basic medical insurance benefits.

Tuberculosis reimbursement process:

1. Patients need to apply to the local insurance center for reimbursement of tuberculosis medical insurance in advance, and go through relevant procedures in the tuberculosis treatment hospital, and the hospital will complete the reimbursement application.

2. After completing the reimbursement application, the local insurance center shall review the patients' pulmonary nodules and medical expenses.

3. After the verification is correct, the local insurance supervision center will pay the reimbursement fee directly to the hospital by cash or credit transfer.

4. The hospital that receives the reimbursement fee should provide the corresponding receipt to the local insurance center, which will sell it back.

5. If the reimbursement fee is insufficient, the patient shall bear the final payment, and some patients who exceed the limit shall bear it themselves.
