Upper limit of social security payment

The upper limit of social security payment is 19 160 yuan per month.

Social security contribution ratio:

1. Endowment insurance: 8% for individuals and 0/5% for enterprises;

2. Unemployment insurance: 0.2% for individuals and 0.48% for enterprises;

3. Work-related injury insurance: 0% for individuals and 0.2% for enterprises;

4. Maternity insurance: 0% for individuals and 0% for enterprises;

5. Medical insurance: 2% for individuals and 5.45% for enterprises.

Social security includes:

1, endowment insurance. Insurance that employees pay insurance premiums every month during their employment and receive pensions every month after retirement;

2. Medical insurance. Employees pay premiums every month during their employment, and can reimburse medical expenses such as outpatient service or hospitalization when they are sick;

3. Unemployment insurance. Employees pay monthly premiums during their employment and receive unemployment benefits after unemployment;

4. Work injury insurance. Insurance for employees injured or incapacitated during their employment;

5. Maternity insurance. Employees can receive subsidy insurance because of pregnancy and childbirth interruption during their employment.

Legal basis: Article 2 of People's Republic of China (PRC) Social Insurance Law.

The state establishes social insurance systems such as basic old-age insurance, basic medical insurance, industrial injury insurance, unemployment insurance and maternity insurance, so as to guarantee citizens' right to receive material assistance from the state and society in accordance with the law when they are old, sick, injured, unemployed and have children.

The social insurance system adheres to the principles of wide coverage, basic protection, multi-level and sustainability, and the level of social insurance should be compatible with the level of economic and social development.
