A check that is not printed with the words "cash" or "transfer" is an ordinary check. Ordinary checks can be used to withdraw cash or transfer money. If you draw two parallel lines in the upper left corner of an ordinary check, it is a crossed check. Crossed checks can only be used for transfer, not cash withdrawal. When it is not crossed, it will be used as a cash check.
