How do I transfer my social security relationship? I used to work in Beijing and now I am working in Nanjing. I am now working in Nanjing.

The transfer and continuity of the basic pension insurance relations of insured persons who are employed across provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government) shall be handled in accordance with the Notice of the General Office of the State Council on the Interim Measures for the Transfer and Continuity of the Basic Pension Insurance Relationships of Urban Enterprises and Employees Transmitted by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security (MHRSS 2009187). The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security "Notice on Implementing the Interim Measures for Transferring and Continuing the Basic Pension Insurance Relationships of Urban Enterprise Workers and Urban Employees Transmitted by the General Office of the State Council" (MOHRSS No. 2009187).

If the insured person has cross-provincial mobile employment, the following procedures shall be followed for the transfer and continuity of basic pension insurance relations:

(1) After the insured person establishes basic pension insurance relations and pays contributions according to the regulations in the new place of employment, the employer or the insured person submits a written application for the transfer and continuity of basic pension insurance relations to the social security agency in the new place of employment.

(2) Within 15 working days, the social security agency in the new place of participation shall examine the application for transfer and continuity, and if it meets the conditions stipulated in these Measures, it shall issue a letter of consent to the social security agency in the place of the participant's original basic old-age insurance relationship and provide the relevant information; if it fails to meet the conditions of the transfer and continuity, it shall give a written explanation to the applying unit or the participant.

(3) Within 15 working days after receiving the letter of consent to acceptance, the social security agency in the place where the original basic pension insurance relationship is located shall carry out all the formalities for the transfer and continuity.

(d) Upon receiving the transfer of the basic pension insurance relationship and funds from the social security agency in the place where the participant's original basic pension insurance relationship is located, the social security agency in the new place of participation shall complete the relevant formalities within 15 working days, and promptly notify the employer or the participant of the confirmation.
