Use social security card or medical insurance card in the hospital?

Legal analysis: medical insurance card and social security card are the same card. You only need to carry a social security card when you are hospitalized in the hospital. If the expenses incurred in hospitalization meet the medical insurance standards, they shall be reimbursed by the medical insurance in social security. Provide medical insurance card when registering for outpatient service, and provide medical insurance card when paying at the window; If you are hospitalized, you will also provide a medical insurance card when you pay at the window, and the reimbursement will be directly deducted.

Legal basis: Article 28 of the Social Insurance Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) conforms to the basic medical insurance drug list, diagnosis and treatment items, medical service facilities standards and emergency and rescue medical expenses, and shall be paid from the basic medical insurance fund in accordance with state regulations.

Twenty-ninth medical expenses of the insured shall be paid by the basic medical insurance fund, and shall be directly settled by the social insurance agency, medical institutions and pharmaceutical business units. The administrative department of social insurance and the administrative department of health shall establish a settlement system for medical expenses in different places to facilitate the insured to enjoy the basic medical insurance benefits.
