What does social security integration mean?

Social security integration is a policy to change laid-off workers of state-owned enterprises from basic living security to unemployment insurance in the social security pilot policy, as follows:

1, merger is an urgent need to fundamentally solve the problem of redundant staff in state-owned enterprises, and then promote the reform of state-owned enterprises and realize the revitalization of old industrial bases;

The purpose of social security integration pilot is to promote employment and reemployment, fully implement preferential policies for reemployment, and ensure that the registered unemployment rate in cities and towns is controlled within a reasonable range; Gradually cancel the re-employment service center of state-owned enterprises, and all laid-off workers who have expired in the center will leave the center and terminate their labor relations with enterprises; Comprehensively clean up and standardize the labor relations of employees in state-owned enterprises; It will take about two years, that is, by the end of 2005, to gradually complete the merger and accelerate the establishment of a market-oriented employment mechanism.

Legal basis: Article 58 of People's Republic of China (PRC) Social Insurance Law.

The employing unit shall, within 30 days from the date of employment, apply to the social insurance agency for social insurance registration for its employees. If the social insurance has not been registered, the social insurance agency shall verify the social insurance premium it should pay.

Employees-free individual industrial and commercial households who voluntarily participate in social insurance, part-time employees who do not participate in social insurance in the employing unit and other flexible employees shall apply to the social insurance agency for social insurance registration.

The state establishes a national unified personal social security number. Personal social security number is a citizen's identity number.
