The social security card enables the medical insurance function.

Medical insurance card (hereinafter referred to as medical insurance card) is a special card for personal account of medical insurance. It takes personal ID card as the identification code, and stores detailed information such as personal ID card number, name, gender, payment, account fund consumption, etc. The medical insurance card is undertaken by the local designated agent bank, which is a multi-functional debit card of the bank. After the insured unit pays the fee, the local medical insurance department will entrust the bank to transfer the personal account payment to the personal medical insurance card of the insured employee at the end of the month.

At present, many cities have suspended medical insurance cards and replaced them with social security cards. The insured can go through the hospitalization formalities with the social security card and enjoy the medical insurance benefits for employees.

Activation mode of social security card:

1. How to activate the social security function of the insured person who redeems the social security card for the first time (free)

Insured personnel who have set the medical insurance card password: enter the password of the original medical insurance card in the designated pharmacy with the new card to activate the new card directly. After the social security card is activated, the original medical insurance card password will still be used.

Insured personnel who have not set the medical insurance card password: use the original medical insurance card to activate the new card in the designated pharmacy.

All medical insurance participants: use social security cards to directly enable social security functions in designated hospitals.

The other three activation methods: SMS activation of self-service SMS platform, synchronous activation of financial functions and on-site activation of handling institutions can be viewed in the medical insurance portal. After the social security card is activated, the original medical insurance card is automatically terminated.

2, the new social security card (free) social security function enabled way

First, enable the social security function while enabling the financial function of the social security card.

The second is to use social security cards in designated hospitals to directly enable social security functions.

The activation of financial functions of new insured personnel must meet the requirements of designated banks. After receiving the social security card, you should hold your valid ID card and social security card to handle the financial function activation business at the counter of the bank where the social security card is opened.

After the social security function of social security card is enabled, pension payment, unemployment payment, endowment insurance and medical insurance withholding business are all realized through this card. However, the insured must activate the financial function as required to receive pension and unemployment benefits through this card, and handle the withholding business of pension insurance and medical insurance.
