Which department should maternity insurance consult?

Maternity insurance is handled by the Social Insurance Administration.

Social insurance is managed by the Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, and the collection, management and payment of social insurance premiums are handled by the Social Insurance Tax, medical insurance bureau and Employment Service Administration under the Human Resources and Social Security Bureau. Among them, pension, work injury and maternity insurance are generally handled by the Social Insurance Administration.

The following materials shall be provided when applying for maternity allowance:

1, a copy of the social security card of the insured employee;

2 copies of birth certificate, birth certificate and one-child certificate;

3, a copy of the invoice of the maternal hospitalization, discharge summary (stamped with the seal of the hospital);

4 unit certificate (including employee's name, age, ID number, start and end date of maternity leave).

To sum up, the maternity insurance fund is collected, paid and managed by the social insurance agency affiliated to the labor department. City (county) social insurance supervision institutions regularly supervise the management of maternity insurance funds.

The basic medical insurance for employees, the new rural cooperative medical system and the basic medical insurance for urban residents shall be implemented in accordance with state regulations.

Article 28

Medical expenses that meet the basic medical insurance drug list, diagnosis and treatment items, medical service facilities standards and emergency rescue shall be paid by the basic medical insurance fund in accordance with state regulations.
