If social security is paid in Shenzhen, can I go back to Shenzhen to apply for social security when I apply for a Hong Kong identity card?

Eligible Hong Kong and Macao residents can apply for Shenzhen endowment insurance registration at the designated outlets of China Bank of Hong Kong.

Shenzhen Cross-border Office provides services for three groups of people, including Hong Kong and Macao residents legally employed by employers, 18 Hong Kong and Macao residents engaged in individual or flexible employment before the statutory retirement age, and 16-60-year-old unemployed Hong Kong and Macao residents who are applying for valid residence permits for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan residents.

After the qualified Hong Kong and Macao residents have gone through the cross-border registration at the designated outlets of BOC Hong Kong, the information will be handed over to Shenzhen Social Security Bureau, and the Hong Kong and Macao residents who successfully participate in insurance payment will enjoy the same social insurance benefits as mainland (mainland) residents according to law.

It should be noted that Hong Kong and Macao residents who are insured in Shenzhen can apply for exemption from Shenzhen's old-age insurance and unemployment insurance on the basis of the certificate issued by the relevant authorized institution or my letter of commitment if they participate in local social insurance in Hong Kong and Macao at the same time and continue to retain the local social insurance relationship.
