Nanjing's settlement policy in 2023 is as follows:

1, graduate students under the age of 45 and above or undergraduate graduates (including returned overseas students and part-time graduate students with equivalent education);

2. College graduates under the age of 40 who have paid social insurance for urban workers in this city for more than 6 months;

3, with intermediate and above professional and technical qualifications;

4. Persons with more than three national vocational qualifications (skills);

5. Unmarried children and their spouses who hold the national vocational qualification certificate (senior technician), full-time and senior professional and technical qualification certificate (professional title) and master's degree or above can move with them;

6, Suiqian should be settled in the order of first family households, then unit collective households, and then talent collective households. If a family household or a unit collective household is settled, a consent form shall be issued by the head of the household or the unit collective household management unit;

7. Unmarried children and spouses should also provide proof of kinship. Unmarried children should also submit an unmarried commitment letter, and the marital status in the household registration book should be unmarried.

Nanjing settlement process:

1. If you want to transfer your household registration, you need to submit your ID card, household registration book, proof of marital status and other documents to the household registration police station where you have settled. After obtaining the approval of the local household registration police station, I will issue the immigration certificate.

2. Then, I will go back to my current household registration police station to explain the situation and apply for moving out of the household registration. If the household registration police station agrees to let me move out of the household registration, I will cancel the household registration, get the household registration information, and then go back to the local police station to register in registered permanent residence;

3. According to the upcoming Opinions on the Orderly Transfer of Household Registration in Nanjing and the Opinions on the Settlement of Talents in Nanjing, Jiangning, Jiangpu, Liuhe, Lishui and Gaochun (Laowu County, Nanjing, now changed) in Nanjing will realize the household registration transfer with the main city of Nanjing. As long as Nanjing registered residents have legal and stable residences, they can move freely within the city and are not limited by housing area.

To sum up, it is more convenient to apply for social security and medical insurance with Nanjing hukou, and it is not necessary to go back to the place where the household registration is located.

Article 10 of the Regulations of People's Republic of China (PRC) Municipality on Household Registration

If a citizen moves out of the place under the jurisdiction of the household registration, he or the head of the household shall apply to the household registration authority for emigration registration, obtain a migration certificate and cancel the household registration.

Citizens who move from rural areas to cities must apply to the permanent residence registration authority for moving out with the employment certificate of the urban labor department, the school admission certificate, or the approval certificate of the urban household registration authority.

Citizens moving to border areas must be approved by the public security organs of the counties, cities and municipal districts where they live.
