Zhenjiang New District (i.e. National Zhenjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone)

Located in the eastern suburb of Zhenjiang, a famous historical and cultural city in China, it was formally established in June 1998 on the basis of Zhenjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone established in 1992 and Zhenjiang Dagang Economic Development Zone established in 1993. The Administrative Committee of Zhenjiang New District and the Administrative Committee of Zhenjiang Economic Development Zone in Jiangsu Province are co-located to implement unified leadership and management on behalf of Zhenjiang Municipal Government. The new area governs Dinggang, Dalu and Yaoqiao towns and Dagang and Dingmao streets, with a total area of 2 18.9 square kilometers and a population of 2170,000.
