Do social security work on Saturday and Sunday?

The Social Security Bureau is closed on Saturdays. The Social Security Bureau is a state organ, with unified working hours, and Saturday and Sunday are weekly rest days.

First, what is social security?

Normal working hours are: Monday to Friday, 9:00- 12:00- 13:00 (summer: 13:30- 17:30). State organs and institutions implement unified working hours, and Saturdays and Sundays are weekly rest days.

Third, the types of social security

5. Maternity insurance: that is, income subsidies and safeguard measures for female employees during childbirth.

Four, the role of social insurance has the following five points:

1. Guarantee the basic livelihood of workers and stabilize society.

2. Protect the health of workers and enhance their physical fitness.

3. Promote the development of production and ensure the normal operation of the economy.

4. Serve the society, serve the grassroots and facilitate people's lives.

5. Implement income redistribution, appropriately adjust labor distribution, and ensure the basic livelihood of low-income people.

Article 7 State organs and institutions shall practise uniform working hours, with Saturdays and Sundays as weekly rest days.

Enterprises and institutions that cannot implement the unified working hours stipulated in the preceding paragraph may flexibly arrange weekly rest days according to actual conditions.

Paragraph 3 of Article 38 stipulates that if the employing unit fails to pay social insurance premiums for the employees according to law, the employees may terminate the labor contract.

The measures for the endowment insurance of civil servants and staff managed by reference to the Civil Service Law shall be formulated by the State Council.

Article 12 The employing unit shall pay the basic old-age insurance premium according to the proportion of the total wages of employees stipulated by the state and record it in the basic old-age insurance pooling fund.

Employees shall pay the basic old-age insurance premium in accordance with the proportion of wages stipulated by the state and record it in their personal accounts.

Individual industrial and commercial households without employees, part-time employees who have not participated in the basic old-age insurance in the employing unit and other flexible employees who have participated in the basic old-age insurance shall pay the basic old-age insurance premiums in accordance with state regulations and record them in the basic old-age insurance pooling fund and individual accounts respectively.
