Is the rural cooperative medical card a social security card?

The rural cooperative medical card, also known as the new rural cooperative medical system card, is the identity certificate and enrollment certificate for rural residents to participate in rural cooperative medical insurance. Therefore, the rural cooperative medical card is not a social security card.

Rural cooperative medical card is mainly used for outpatient treatment, hospitalization reimbursement and other functions, and cardholders can enjoy medical insurance reimbursement treatment in designated medical insurance hospitals.
