Procedures for Hong Kong and Macao residents to purchase social insurance in the Mainland

Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao personnel who have not applied for the Employment Certificate of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao personnel and participated in social insurance in Shenzhen in other ways are deemed invalid and cannot enjoy relevant social insurance benefits.

To apply for an employment permit for people from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao, please log in to official website of Shenzhen Human Resources and Social Security Bureau and select "Work Guide" → "Employment Permit for People from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao in the Mainland" to understand the application materials and application process.

People from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao who have obtained the Employment Certificate for People from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao can participate in old-age insurance, medical insurance, industrial injury insurance, unemployment insurance and maternity insurance, pay social insurance premiums and enjoy social insurance benefits in accordance with the Social Insurance Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) and the existing social insurance laws and regulations in Shenzhen.

Treatment process

1. Take all the materials to the nearest social security bureau to get the number.

2. After taking the number, wait for the call in the lobby, and then go to the counter to hand over all the materials and photo receipts to the staff for on-site handling.

3. The staff will collect and check the materials and make up some materials on the spot. You can choose the first, second and third gears of flexible employment.

4. Then register a debit card number. The processing flow is very simple. The staff will give you a receipt when it is finished. (The review process takes three to five working days. My review was successful that afternoon. )

5. After successful processing, you will receive a short message from the Social Security Bureau informing you to apply for a social security card at the bank.
