The first thing a newborn needs to do in order to participate in medical insurance is to register for insurance. Bring the household register (a copy of the first page and the child's household page), the parent's ID card (a copy of the front and back), and a one-inch photo of the newborn with a blue background or a red background (required in some places) to the street where the household register is located or to the community labor security office to apply for the insurance procedures. It takes more than a month from the enrollment procedures to get the newborn health insurance card. Generally speaking, newborns within 12 months of birth can enroll at any time.

The annual health insurance fee is $50.

Newborns can apply anytime within a year of birth, but the local tax is accepted for social security from 6-25 days a month. A newborn who applies for a social security card within three months of birth can be reimbursed for expenses incurred from the time of birth to the present. If you apply for a social security card after three months, you will only be reimbursed for medical expenses from the time you apply for the card.
