Newborns can apply for medical insurance as soon as they are born; If it is not handled in time, it can enjoy the reimbursement of mother's medical insurance for urban residents within three months; If the expectant mother participates in the new rural cooperative medical system, the newborn can also enjoy the treatment of the new rural cooperative medical system in the year when the mother gave birth, but if the parents still fail to apply for medical insurance for the child in time three months after the birth of the newborn, the medical expenses will not be reimbursed.

Bring all the materials to the social security center where the account is located and go through the corresponding procedures.

1. Take the household registration book to the street labor and social security service center where the household registration is located to handle the insurance payment procedures. 2. The agent brings the original and photocopy of the newborn household registration book and the original and photocopy of the agent's ID card to the social security center to apply for a social security card. The annual payment standard is 40 yuan.
