Is Wuxi Jiangyin Medical Insurance Universal Health Insurance?

Medical expenses for hospitalization in designated hospitals outside the city can be reimbursed.

Jiangyin city regulations:

If the insured really need to be hospitalized in the headquarters of designated hospitals outside Nanjing, Wuxi, Suzhou, Changzhou, Shanghai and Beijing due to illness, the employees and retirees who are not included in social management will be admitted to the headquarters of designated hospitals outside our city after their identities are confirmed and sealed by their units (freelancers and retirees who belong to community management will be confirmed and sealed by their community (village) labor security administrators). The list of designated hospitals outside the city will be notified separately.

The above-mentioned personnel shall go to the Municipal Medical Insurance Fund Management Center (hereinafter referred to as the Municipal Medical Insurance Center) for review and reimbursement according to the provisions of the basic medical insurance in our city with their identity confirmation certificate, outpatient medical records, discharge summary, expense details, valid bills (special receipts for inpatient medical expenses at the headquarters of designated hospitals outside the city) and social insurance cards.

City medical insurance center for the occurrence of large medical expenses or questions, if necessary, after investigation and verification to pay.

The medical expenses incurred by the insured in non-designated medical institutions and the expenses of drugs purchased by themselves will not be reimbursed.
