Is the old social security card still available?

After the introduction of the third generation social security card, the old social security card cannot be used and needs to be replaced. The card replacement application process is as follows:

1. The agent or his/her agent must present his/her original valid ID card, a copy of ID card and the original ID card of the agent to the social security center for card replacement;

2. The agent or agent should fill in the corresponding form when handling the formalities of card replacement and card replacement, and issue the original valid ID card;

3. After the social security card comprehensive service window accepts the application for replacement card, the cardholder or his agent pays the corresponding social security card fee (35 yuan) and receives the payment voucher after payment;

4. The handling personnel shall go through the formalities for confirming the replacement card and issue an acceptance receipt;

5. The agent or his agent shall, after the specified working day, hold the original valid ID card and the business receipt to the social security center to obtain the certificate.

Check whether the social security card is activated as follows:

1. You can use the social security card in the designated social security medical institution, for example, you can go to the pharmacy to buy medicine. If it can be used, the personal account of the social security card has been activated;

2. You can bring your social security card to the local convenience service center to check the status of your personal account.

3. Query whether the social security card financial account has been activated. You can directly insert the social security card into the ATM for use. If the bank card function cannot be used normally, it means that the financial account has not been activated.

4. You can bring your social security card to the issuing bank to check whether the financial account has been activated. Use social security cards in designated hospitals or pharmacies. If it can be used normally, the social security card has been activated.

Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security is responsible for the issuance and application of national social security cards.

Provincial and municipal human resources and social security departments are responsible for the issuance and application management of social security cards in the region, and their subordinate information comprehensive management institutions specifically undertake the related affairs of social security card issuance and technical management.

Human resources and social security departments at all levels should protect cardholders' right to inquire about and handle human resources and social security business, adopt technical means and management measures to protect cardholders' personal privacy, and use relevant information of social security cards according to law to ensure the safety of social security cards.
