Social security cards can gradually enable individuals to handle various human resources and social security services across regions and businesses, mainly including electronic certificates, information recording, self-service inquiry, medical settlement, payment and treatment collection, financial payment, etc., with 102 applications. More than 80 applications have been implemented in Changsha.

Legal basis: Article 29 of the Social Insurance Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) stipulates that the part of the medical expenses of the insured who should be paid by the basic medical insurance fund shall be directly settled by social insurance agencies, medical institutions and pharmaceutical trading units.
