Must the old-age insurance be paid at the place where the household registration is located?

Workers' social insurance is not paid at the place where they are registered, but at the social insurance institution in the place where they are employed. At present, there are five insurances, namely, basic old-age insurance for urban workers, basic medical insurance for urban workers, industrial injury insurance, unemployment insurance and maternity insurance.

Among them, endowment insurance, medical insurance and unemployment insurance are paid by the employer and individual workers respectively according to the prescribed proportion, and the part paid by individual workers is withheld and remitted by the unit; Industrial injury insurance and maternity insurance are paid by the employer, and individual employees do not pay; Flexible employees can only participate in endowment insurance and medical insurance.

According to population type, the structure of social endowment insurance in China can be divided into three parts: endowment insurance for employees in urban enterprises, endowment insurance for institutions and rural endowment insurance. The initial social endowment insurance system in China is the urban endowment insurance system. The endowment insurance system of state organs and institutions was separated from the endowment insurance system of urban workers, and then it experienced the process of merger and separation in the process of system reform.

The basic old-age insurance premium is shared by enterprises and employees: enterprises pay according to a certain proportion of the total average monthly salary of employees in the previous year, and employees pay according to a certain proportion of the average monthly salary of employees in the previous year.

Urban individual industrial and commercial households, flexible employees and laid-off workers from state-owned enterprises who participate in the basic old-age insurance in their personal capacity shall pay the basic old-age insurance premium at a rate of 20% based on the average social wage in the province where they are located, and all of them shall be borne by themselves.
