Huazhong science and technology, electricity and electronics, which is better?

As long as you can graduate from electrical engineering, you don't have to worry about not finding a job, which is almost 100%. Units are also good, such as nuclear power, electric power bureau, electric power company, power supply company, power plant and so on. Most of them go abroad to take Chinese and English classes, but many electronic students at Birmingham University in England don't know.

The following is the direction of electrical specialty in 2009.

Employment statistics and related suggestions of 2009 undergraduate graduates from School of Electricity, Huazhong University of Science and Technology

I. Employment Statistics of Undergraduate Graduates in 2009

1 and the general situation of 2009 undergraduate graduates

There were ***500 undergraduate graduates in our college in 2009, of whom 163 went on to pursue postgraduate studies, accounting for 32.6%, and 38 went abroad to study, accounting for 7.6%.

According to the types of student employment units, there are 139 people working in the power grid company, accounting for 28.0%, 2 people working in the research institutes of the power grid company, accounting for 0.4%, 3 people working in the electric power design institute, accounting for 0.6%, and 56 people working in the electric power equipment manufacturing industry, accounting for11.2.

According to the employment area, Hubei Province 14 1 person (including those who studied in Wuhan 104, accounting for 20.8%), accounting for 28.2%, Guangdong Province 70 people, accounting for 14%, and Hunan Province 33 people, accounting for 6.6%. 2.2%, Beijing 19, accounting for 3.8%, Zhejiang 30, accounting for 6%, Sichuan 7, accounting for 1.42%, Shandong 6, accounting for 1.2%, Fujian 9, accounting for1.8.

Because employers have many evaluation criteria when recruiting students and there are many aspects to evaluate a student, the evaluation system of employment destination is very complicated. The following mainly analyzes the employment direction of students according to their academic performance. The analysis may be incomplete, for your reference only.

2. Postgraduate entrance examination

There are 192 graduates of 2009 who applied for graduate studies in our school, and 69 of them were admitted, with an admission rate of only 35.9%. Among them, there are 8 people whose academic performance is above 85 points. They gave up their postgraduate qualification and took exams in Tsinghua, Zhejiang University, Shanghai Jiaotong University and our college. The number of students with 80-85 points is the largest, with 40 students. These students are the main force in the postgraduate entrance examination. They usually have excellent grades, a solid foundation, strong learning ability, a firm will to take the postgraduate entrance examination and ideal grades. A score of 75-80 is 18. These students may not study hard at ordinary times, but they are well prepared for the postgraduate entrance examination. There are only three students with 70-75 points. These students have a poor foundation and may not be determined to take the postgraduate entrance examination, so the postgraduate entrance examination is very successful.

3. Power grid company

Comparison of performance requirements of some provincial network companies

Geographically, except Guangzhou and Shenzhen, Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou and other metropolises with superior geographical conditions have basically not recruited people in our college, while students employed in developed eastern provinces such as Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Fujian are basically assigned to second-tier cities in this province. Central China, South China, Southwest China and other provinces have a great demand for our graduates, and their capital cities such as Changsha, Kunming, Chongqing and Chengdu also recruit more people.

Because the dispatching center, electric power experimental research institute and design institute of provincial power grid company basically require graduates to have a master's degree or above, the above-mentioned units only hired three people and went to Foshan Electric Power Design Institute, Hunan Experimental Institute and Xinjiang Electric Power Research Institute respectively.

Judging from the requirements for grades. Among the provincial power grid companies, Guangdong Power Grid has 40 employees, the largest number, the fiercest competition and the highest performance requirements. The main high-scoring students are also concentrated in Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Foshan bureaus, with basically 80 points or above.

Hubei Electric Power Company recruits 19 people, while Wuhan Power Supply Bureau only recruits 1 person. Other jobs are mainly in Xianning Bureau and Huanggang Bureau, with average scores, mostly between 70 and 80.

Hunan Electric Power Company recruits 25 people, mainly Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Bureau and Xiangxi Bureau. The requirements for grades are general, and the scores of recruited students are evenly distributed, mainly between 70 and 80 points.

Yunnan Power Grid recruits 6 people and 4 people to Kunming Bureau, which requires a higher level, about 80 points. Zhejiang Electric Power recruited 9 people, but Hangzhou Bureau did not. Graduates mainly went to Wenzhou, Taizhou, Anji and other places, with high scores, about 80 points. Anhui Electric Power recruits 8 people, mainly in Wuhu Bureau, and requires a score close to 80 points. Sichuan Electric Power recruits 3 people to go to Chengdu and Deyang respectively, requiring about 80 points.

China Southern Power Grid EHV Transmission Company is responsible for the management, operation, maintenance and construction of inter-provincial backbone power grids and important tie lines of China Southern Power Grid. Each unit and its branches are located in Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou and Hainan provinces. The 10 people recruited in 2009 went to Guangzhou, Guizhou, Liuzhou and Anning respectively. Its requirement for grades is about 80 points.

4. Power generation enterprises

Power generation enterprise graduates are concentrated in nuclear power companies. In addition, there are almost no graduates who are employed in new energy power generation fields such as wind power and photovoltaic. Generally speaking, nuclear power requires very high performance, almost all of which are above 80 points.

The requirements of CGNPC are relatively high, with an average score of 82.6. Require high ideological and moral level, good health and no failure. The largest number of graduates went to Daya Bay, 10. Others went to Ningde, Taishan Nuclear Power and China Guangdong Nuclear Engineering Co., Ltd. respectively.

CNNC recruited 9 people, including 5 Qinshan Nuclear Power, 2 Sanmen Nuclear Power and 2 Fuqing Fujian. The requirements are similar to those of CGNPC, with an average of 82 points.

Shenzhen Energy Group is a listed company. The power generation of power plants under Shenzhen Energy Group accounts for more than one-third of the local power supply in Shenzhen, and the total profit of the group exceeds 2 billion yuan every year, maintaining a high profit level in the national power industry. Recruit 2 people and ask for about 80 points.

Huaneng Group recruited two people from Huaneng Nanjing Jinling Power Generation Co., Ltd. and Huaneng Shandong Shidaowan Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. respectively. Among them, the students who went to Dongshidao Nuclear Power have a weight of 85 points.

5. Power equipment manufacturing enterprises

State-owned electrical equipment factory: another major employment direction. It mainly includes building large well-known state-owned electrical equipment manufacturers such as Nanrui Group, Guodian Nanzi, Xuji, Shanghai Electric, Dongfang Electric, TBEA and xd group. It also includes Macaudi Electric, Shenzhen Huiyeda, Nanjing Panneng Power Technology and other electrical equipment supporting enterprises. Require good grades, strong ability and high ideological awareness.

Nanjing Nanrui and Shenzhen Nanrui have excellent employment positions, good enterprise benefits, and very high requirements for grades, with a weight of more than 82 points.

However, large state-owned power equipment manufacturers, such as xd group, Dongfang Electric and TBEA, have received less attention because of their geographical location in underdeveloped inland areas, and their performance requirements have also been lowered.

ABB, Siemens, Schneider, GE and other international electrical equipment manufacturing giants all had no employment in 2009.

6. Other industries

There are 27 employees in other industries, covering traditional manufacturing industries and emerging industries such as automobiles, aviation, tobacco, IT, steel, electric locomotives and shipbuilding. This kind of enterprise belongs to "non-mainstream" in the eyes of students. Considering that the future development of employment in other industries may be affected by professional restrictions, and the power industry itself has better treatment, so the attention is low.

Second, the outstanding problems and suggestions of students' employment in our college

1, problem

Employment is too concentrated in the power industry, especially in power grid companies, ignoring many enterprises with great growth space, thus missing many other opportunities; The employment area is biased towards the developed provinces in the east, and few people pay attention to powerful enterprises and power grid companies in the inland of the west; Employment information is only passively accepted, and there is no active attack, and the interview and written test preparation are not sufficient (from the feedback of Shenzhen Nanrui written test interview, the students of Grade 06 who are ready for employment are more prominent in this respect, giving the unit the impression that students are impetuous and poorly prepared for employment), and few companies can enter the top 500.

Judging from the current situation of Grade 06, students are more enthusiastic about power grid companies. At present, the large-scale recruitment of power grid companies has not yet started, but many manufacturing companies have come to the school to hold job fairs. Many students don't pay enough attention to these recruitment opportunities, or just regard them as their own "training" stage, which takes up many opportunities. For example, Shenzhen Nanrui originally recruited 8 people, but only 2 people were willing to sign the contract, which had a great negative impact on the relationship between the college and the unit. The unit told me that if this is the case, I will not come to the college for recruitment in the future.

2. Recommendations:

(1). Have a clear self-orientation, focus on personal long-term development, have the determination and courage to be ambitious, enter the mainstream, enter the big stage, do great things, and don't pay too much attention to immediate interests; The premise of choosing a job is to find your own interest and ability, which is ignored by many students looking for a job. Many of us don't know what we want to do and what we are suitable for. When looking for a job, we just passively follow the trend. For these students, it is suggested to use MBTI career test to understand themselves, plan their future thoughts and conduct a career choice test, including personality type, suitable field, suitable career and how to locate.

(2) At present, more and more top 500 enterprises directly select talents through internship programs, but students in our college do not pay enough attention to this. It is suggested that students take more initiative. Whether they decide to take part in the work after graduation or not, it is a very good exercise opportunity to participate in it.

(3) Finding a job is not easier than taking the postgraduate entrance examination, which is also ignored by many students. I didn't make full use of my time to review the relevant professional knowledge, which led to the failure of written examination in many companies' recruitment and insufficient interview preparation, which led to the missed opportunity.

(4) Some small and medium-sized enterprises and listed companies are not well-known but have huge room for growth, such as wind power and photovoltaic enterprises in some new energy-related industries, BYD and other enterprises engaged in electric vehicles. Working in these enterprises means more career growth opportunities, but students don't know much about these enterprises, so they don't pay attention. It is suggested that students should not be limited to the treatment and requirements of power grid companies and power bureaus, but should analyze the development trend and growth point of the industry from the perspective of the whole national energy development policy, and analyze the growth space of companies and individuals from the perspective of the performance and benefits of some companies.

(5) In recent years, power grid companies have increased their recruitment efforts, and a large number of graduates have been able to work in power grid companies. Considering the talent system and gradient of each unit, the competition is fierce after entering the power grid company, and most people have limited development space. To put it simply, generally speaking, the positions of power grid companies are all a radish and a pit, and the positions for further promotion are all brothers and sisters who have just graduated for a few years. Students' future promotion needs to wait until there is room for their own promotion. Therefore, while paying attention to the treatment and region, we should also pay attention to the future development space.
