Qingyuan Huaqiao Middle School is a national model ordinary high school in Guangdong Province. In July 2006, it was merged from the former Qingcheng No.1 Middle School and the former Huaqiao Middle School and moved to the New Economic Development Zone. The investment in school construction is nearly 300 million yuan, covering an area of 300 mu, with a construction area of nearly 654.38+10,000 square meters. It is the largest public ordinary high school in Qingyuan. The school, formerly known as Zhou Xin Middle School, was founded in 1968. 1990 was renamed Qingcheng No.1 Middle School and promoted to county (district) key middle school. In 2003, it passed the evaluation of "First-class Schools in Guangdong Province". In 2006, the former high school of Qingyuan Huaqiao Middle School was merged and renamed Qingyuan Huaqiao Middle School and moved to the New Economic Development Zone. According to the Reply of Education Supervision Office of Guangdong Provincial People's Government on July 7, 2006 on Retaining the Title of Guangdong First Class School after the First Middle School in Qingcheng District of Qingyuan City was renamed as Qingyuan Overseas Chinese Middle School (Yuefu 13), the title of "Guangdong First Class School" was retained. The investment in school construction is 230 million yuan, covering an area of 300 mu, with a construction area of nearly 654.38+10,000 square meters. It is the largest public ordinary high school in Qingyuan campus.

The development achievements of the No.1 Middle School in Qingcheng District and the former Huaqiao Middle School in Qingyuan City all reflect a spiritual trait of "self-improvement".
