Shanggao County Vocational and Technical School is located at the foot of Jingshan Mountain in Shanggao County, next to National Highway 320, with a superior geographical location.

The school has a long history of running schools. It was founded in 1958. It was originally the Shanggao branch of the Communist Labor University. In 1998, it was named Shanggao County Vocational and Technical School. In 2005, it was evaluated and identified as a key secondary vocational school in Jiangxi Province by the Provincial Department of Education, and in 2008, it was evaluated and identified as a national key secondary vocational school by the Ministry of Education.
