China Financial Management Standards Committee defines financial management as: financial management refers to a comprehensive financial service in which financial professionals jointly define their financial goals and priorities, define their risk attributes, analyze and evaluate their financial situation, tailor appropriate financial management plans for customers, and implement, monitor and adjust them in time to finally meet their financial needs at different life stages. This passage may be long-winded, and my understanding is: professionals who provide comprehensive financial services to customers.

As for whether insurance sellers are financial planners, I personally think that in a broad sense, financial practitioners can be called financial planners. As for professional skills, it varies from person to person. However, it needs to be clear that financial planning is by no means a single sale of a financial product. It is a macro comprehensive financial service, which needs dynamic adjustment.

As an employee of a financial institution, it is understandable to sell products, because you may not have so much time and energy to make systematic planning for customers. Even if you do, customers may not be willing to let you do the planning. They usually just want you to tell them which products have high returns and low risks. Even so, I personally suggest that you try to make some plans for customers from the customer's point of view, and then embed products in these plans. This is a long-term customer relationship, and your career may go further.
