Shangjiao Shipyard Address

The address of Shangjiao Shipyard is 100 meter west of the Pearl River at Shangjiao, Luopu Street, Panyu District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province. Shangjiao Village, located in the Pearl River water network, has been famous for making dragon boats since the late Qing Dynasty and has been 140 years. It has also become a well-known shipbuilding base, and its dragon boat making skills have also become a representative project of provincial intangible cultural heritage in Guangdong Province. Shangjiao Shipyard, founded in 1950s, is one of the earliest collectively-owned dragon boat factories in Panyu. From the end of 1980s to the beginning of 1990s, due to the decrease in the scale of dragon boat activities and the drop in demand, the shipyard business was affected, and its main business turned to the maintenance and repair of large transport vessels between Hong Kong and Macao.
