What is it like to work in Shaoyang?

As a native of Shaoyang, I have lived in Shaoyang for thirty years and worked in Shaoyang for more than four years. So I have a big say in working in Shaoyang!

After graduating from college in 2011, I returned to Shaoyang and started working in Shaoyang in 2013. First, I worked as a water delivery worker in a small town. Because there are two bottled water companies in the town, customer care is also very important. Most of the residents in the town drink the water I deliver, so I have a high reputation in the town. Because there are many schools that sell bottled water, I thought it would be a good idea to be a teacher, so I went to the central primary school in the town and became a primary school teacher. In 2014, he worked as a substitute teacher in the school for one year. In 2015, he passed the Dongkou County Teacher Recruitment Examination and became a regular teacher in Dongkou County.

During the four years I worked in Shaoyang, I worked very hard. He has won numerous awards from the County People's Government and rewarded his efforts with excellent results every time in the year-end performance appraisal of the Education Bureau. The education and teaching work in the school has also won unanimous praise from parents of students and the majority of villagers. I feel that as long as you don’t treat your work badly, your work won’t treat you badly. It’s great to work in Shaoyang!

I was born and raised in Shaoyang. I went to Shenzhen after graduating from university. I came back in 2015. I felt that there were so many mahjong parlors in Shaoyang. There were six or seven mahjong parlors in one vegetable market. People in mahjong parlors seem to be "extremely" rich. They can win or lose hundreds of dollars at a time. They don't work and you can see them playing cards every day. I really don't know how they get their money. The city center of Shaoyang is very small, just a straight road. A Shaoshui River divides it into two parts, Daxiang District and Shuangqing District, Hongqi Road and Dongfeng Road. You can start shopping from People’s Square and basically stop at the south gate. It's over. The basic salary in Shaoyang is not high, but its prices keep up with those in big cities, or even exceed them by some. Maybe I am a relatively comfortable person without much ambition. Compared with my previous life in Shenzhen, I still prefer my current life. Housing prices in big cities are always a flaw. It’s too difficult to settle down there. I don’t like to be constantly drifting. I want a home of my own where I can buy whatever I want without having to worry about the landlord not wanting to rent or renting. What should I do if the rent goes up? What should I do with my belongings? Please forgive me for being a person who doesn’t have much ambition and likes to live a comfortable life. I don't need other people's approval, I just feel good about myself.

Shaoyang is located in central Hunan, with a vast territory, a long history, abundant resources, and outstanding people. With the rapid economic development, Shaoyang collapsed in central Hunan. Working in Shaoyang, I have the following feelings:

First, Shaoyang’s economy has declined, but modern development is gradually rising

The short-sighted behavior of Shaoyang people has destroyed Shaoyang’s economy. Once upon a time. The small commodities produced by Shaoyang people are low in price and rich in variety. They are favored by consumers and quickly occupy many regional markets in the country, especially the rural market. However, because these commodities did not pay attention to quality and were eliminated by the modern economic structure, Shaoyang's economic development suffered setbacks. Shaoyang is a third-tier city, so the wages and benefits are not as high as those in the first-tier city, but consumption is high.

Second, Shaoyang’s environment and air quality are good

Although Shaoyang’s environment was said to be a “dirty” and “chaotic” city before, as time goes by As time goes by, with the development of civilized cities, these adjectives are gradually replaced. Moreover, Shaoyang was very chaotic and had poor public security before. Later, after strengthening management, it gradually became better and the crime rate decreased. Shaoyang is not a place where heavy industry is developed, so the air quality is good and it is suitable for living.

When working in Shaoyang, the salary is not very high and prices are not cheap, especially side dishes and fruits, which are extremely expensive this year.

For example, in the health care industry like us, the fees are high in other places. When we get to Shaoyang, we can’t afford the fees, so we have to get even cheaper after discounts. It’s hard to do business. If you have the opportunity, you should go to big cities for development. There will be many opportunities.

The best entertainment activity for people in Shaoyang City is playing cards and mahjong! There are card halls and mahjong parlors everywhere! There are many dogs in the city. Dog poop is everywhere outside the central city. If you take a walk in the morning, you will step on dog poop accidentally! The construction of the city is very backward, and there are construction sites everywhere that have been forced to stop because there is no money.

I came to Shaoyang to work in April this year! My feelings about Shaoyang: The consumption is high, much higher than what we used to spend in Dongguan. I went home because the house I bought was renovated and I wanted to spend more time with my children! I live in Daxiang District and work in Shuangqing Xiangshang Industrial Park. Buses there are inconvenient and there are no direct buses to the entrance of the community. Fortunately, I have transportation tools, otherwise I would waste too much time on the road by taking the bus to work every day! I rarely go out after returning home. I leave early and come back late every day. I also know where to shop in the city center by taking the bus! I hope there will be more buses in Shaoyang and the factory benefits will be better!

It’s great to work in Shaoyang. The salary is not high, but it is enough. The pressure is not great, but it is motivating. The pace is not fast, but I dare not stop. Shaoyang is a land of outstanding people. If Shaoyang is not careful at work, he will participate in the selection and recruitment of civil servants from superiors or developed areas. The probability of passing the exam is high, and he will feel a great sense of accomplishment after passing the exam. He leaves without hesitation. There is no sadness, only happiness. Working in Shaoyang gives me a full sense of accomplishment, because most of the 8 million people in Shaoyang can only work outside, and it is not easy to work locally.

I hope Shaoyang will get better and better, so that we don’t have to go out to work and can work locally.
