What does a die assembler do?

The main work of die assembler is die manufacturing, die repair, die maintenance and die transformation. In addition to molds, the work scope of mold assemblers also includes the design, manufacture and maintenance of various fixtures, drilling tools and measuring tools. In addition, some industries also require mold assemblers to have the ability to design, process, assemble, test and calibrate some tooling equipment with special requirements.

Die assembler level

There is no clear assessment and definition of the level of die fitter. Usually divided into apprentices, junior workers, intermediate workers, senior workers, technicians and senior technicians.

Skill level of die assembler

There are five levels of this profession, namely: primary (national vocational qualification level 5), intermediate (national vocational qualification level 4), advanced (national vocational qualification level 3), technician (national vocational qualification level 2) and senior technician (national vocational qualification level 1). Vocational qualification certificates of corresponding grades shall be issued by the labor and social security departments.

The grade certificate of the die fitter is different from the driver's license and is not mandatory. Many die assemblers without certificates are also engaged in die work.
