2. Pre-heating treatment stage, the purpose is to fully heat the wood before drying, and remove the drying stress that may have existed (generated during air drying). Start the blower of the hot blast stove to supply heat to the drying room, and at the same time ignite the steam furnace to humidify the drying room (spray steam). The temperature should be between 40℃ and 50℃, and the temperature should not rise too fast. When steam is sprayed (humidified), the moisture discharge is turned off. The humidification time to the drying room depends on the variety and thickness of wood, generally 20-30 hours, about 1-2 days. The circulating fan in the kiln changes direction every 4 hours.

In the intermediate treatment stage, intermediate treatment is a humidity control treatment carried out in the drying process of the kiln, and its purpose is to eliminate the surface expansion stress produced in the early stage and prevent surface cracking, or to eliminate the surface hardening produced in the middle and late stage and prevent internal cracking in the later stage. According to the running direction of the fan in the kiln, dehumidification is carried out manually. After preheating and humidification, the kiln is closed for 24 hours. When the temperature is higher than 55℃, dehumidification can be achieved. According to the direction of the fan, manually open or close the corresponding dehumidifying hood. The dehumidification time is that the fan changes direction every 4 hours and dehumidifies for 30 minutes. After dehumidification, the temperature will gradually increase, but it cannot exceed 80 degrees. For wood that is easy to deform or crack, a small amount of humidification (steam spray) should be properly carried out during dehumidification and drying to eliminate the internal stress of wood. It is suggested that elm should be humidified for 4 hours every 48 hours, and the moisture outlet should be closed during humidification. This operation will take about 6-7 days.

4, normal drying stage, 9 days later, the temperature is 65℃-75℃, it is forbidden to overtemperature, stop humidifying (steam spraying), the circulating fan is reversed every 4 hours, and the humidity is discharged 1 hour. It takes about 4-6 days to get it done. After the treatment, samples are taken from the kiln for 4-8 hours. After passing the test, the temperature of the drying room is slowly lowered, and the kiln can only be taken out when the temperature drops to about 40℃.
