One of my businesses is to give advice and guidance to investment institutions and large and small enterprises on the development and pattern of the industry. At present, I am also a consultant of an international investment fund, participating in its daily investment activities and participating in a project from preliminary research to investment to post-investment management.

As an industry researcher, I think the most taboo is conformity and following the trend. The topic should be bold and original, and dare to choose some fields that others have not studied or never thought of studying. The so-called relying on the sword alone can often find its own long-term foothold, which is welcomed by investment institutions and industries because of its unique understanding and research on certain industries.

Baking industry, in fact, I have been doing research since 2006, and have been doing topics that all major industry research companies have done, such as "China Baking Industry Report". Someone extracted an opinion from the newspaper, but I really didn't see any noise. At the beginning of 20 14, I worked in Shanghai branch of a European bank, and the title given by the Dutch headquarters was "Analysis and Introduction of Frozen Dough Market in China". Some people in the Netherlands have written about this topic, but the Bank of China has never written about it since its establishment. At that time, the industry didn't understand the concept of frozen dough, so we had to go to food fairs in Chengdu, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Shanghai to find such enterprises to participate. Fortunately, at least one company participated in each exhibition. After in-depth interviews, I talked about ten companies, and finally formed my own views. I only wrote an English report on June paper. After this report was published, it had a great influence in the industry, so the bank arranged for someone to translate it in addition to the Chinese version.

After I left my job at the end of 20 15, there were still many investors and industrial people looking for me, so I continued to do research on frozen baking and extended my research to many countries and regions such as Europe and America, forming an understanding of the world frozen baking industry and market structure. He has published analytical articles in this field on platforms such as LinkedIn and Snowball. He gave a speech at some industry conferences and was interviewed by the media, becoming the KOL (opinion leader) of the baking industry. When consulting a company, I introduced the company to join an international investment institution and become a shareholder (GP), so now it is also conducting artificial meat research and related investment activities.

If you had written some general reports on the macro-industry structure at that time, it would have been difficult for you to stand out from the crowd and be valued, and you would not have your own consulting and related investment and financing services in recent years.

Here is a special sentence about the importance of writing. Writing is an art as well as a kung fu. A researcher should have a good command of writing, otherwise jiaozi will cook in the teapot and the temptation will not come out. In fact, no one will think that you not only have tea, but also jiaozi. The author writes more articles in English than in Chinese, so it is very important to cultivate English writing ability. How to make the layout of your articles concise and influential, and how to expound and demonstrate your own views, writing art and language skills are very important.

To this end, in English learning, I have extensively read English classic books and articles such as economics and business studies, and I can also read several classic novels by Dickens, a master writer, so that the story and characters' words and deeds are familiar to me.

In short, writing and research and my financial road (investment and financing services) complement each other and blend well. There is no end to art, only continue to study hard, and believe that the future road will be wider, straighter and brighter!
