I once moved out all the samples, newspapers and magazines at hand and tidied them up. At that time, my students had more than 900 exercises. First, send a short message to the editor. Every submission, every submission letter, I will attach a short message to the editor. Such short messages are usually handwritten. If you copy or mimeograph, and then fill in the newspaper name and editor's name like signing a bill, it seems less true. Second, keep stable and effective contact information. In the editorial department, every editor has his own "responsibility field". In order to plant this "responsibility field" well, editors will try their best to expand the source of manuscripts so as to choose the best among them. Here, stable and effective contact information is equally important not only to the author but also to the editor. Among these contact methods, mobile phone is the most timely and convenient. In recent years, there have been many manuscripts, all of which were written by the editors after contacting me by phone. Some of our teachers like to change their mobile phone numbers frequently. I don't know this change. If the editor wants to ask you for a manuscript, he can't contact you even if he knows your name. After a few times, people will forget you. I changed my number once, but a month before the change, I sent an email to all the editors I knew, telling them that I had started using the new number from March 1. This will minimize the communication between the editor and the author.
Third, communicate with the editor in time. From manuscript selection to typesetting, each manuscript has to go through several passes, such as primary editing, responsible editing and chief editor, and each pass may be revised again. Don't take any chances after our manuscript is sent out. If conditions permit, communicate with the editor more. I remember that the first exercise special of Field Literature Society was "Learning Guidance for Junior High School Students" from 65438 to 0999 in Liaoning. At that time, after our social magazine was sent out, Mr. Wang Baogui, director of the editorial department of Junior High School Students' Learning Guidance, called several instructors. Fourth, communication submission should keep up. Before 2000, the manuscripts of Field Literature Society were mainly sent through the post office. At that time, I went to the post office almost every week, and sometimes I sent dozens of letters, so that the staff of our town post office were familiar with me. Since I bought a computer in June, 2006, my submission method has quietly changed. It is cheap and fast to submit articles online by email or other means. Sometimes when an editor meets a manuscript that is in urgent need, he will call in the morning, distribute it in the afternoon, and finalize and typeset it on the same day. In this way, you help the editor solve the urgent need, and he will naturally read your manuscript in the future. Moreover, in recent years, newly established or revised newspaper editors are mostly young people who have just left school. They are very dissatisfied with the traditional submission method. An editor told me that they are most willing to accept high-quality electronic manuscripts because they can be used as soon as they are taken, and there is no need to modify, print and proofread them. Some newspapers and periodicals have a heavy editing task, such as Jilin Chinese Learning Newspaper, which basically means that one editor is responsible for one edition, with two eight editions per week. If it is a traditional manuscript, it is estimated that even simple input is difficult to complete.
Broaden the publishing field, but also ensure the quality of manuscripts. My method has three points:
First of all, we should strive to improve students' writing level and ensure sufficient manuscript sources. Composition teaching has a long cycle, slow effect and even a little thankless. In addition, there are artificial differences in the examination room composition marking, so that many teachers fundamentally ignore the composition teaching, or ask students to recite several excellent works, so that they can fool the past during the exam. In fact, composition, reading and classroom teaching can be integrated, and I do the same in actual teaching. I also ask students to write a weekly diary once a week, just like the unit composition. In fact, more than 80% of the papers published by students in my class come from their weekly diaries and their free pen exercises. Of course, there are many ways to improve students' writing level, and the teacher is more experienced than me, so I won't say much here.
Secondly, put an end to fake and shoddy products and ensure the quality of manuscripts. As I said before, many editors have very heavy tasks. They don't have much time and can't make detailed revisions to a semi-finished manuscript. Therefore, before we publish the manuscript, we must check it first to solve some problems such as typos, irregular punctuation, and sick sentences for the editor. Especially the draft, but also to ensure the quality. Otherwise, even if people reluctantly use your manuscript this time, it is estimated that they will not contact you again in the future. At the same time, we should pay attention to killing counterfeit products in the cradle. Once an editor chatted with me and asked for a manuscript of a master's thesis, but three paragraphs of reading in the manuscript were copied from the Internet. Nowadays, the network is omnipotent, and it is easy to copy and find. If there is anything good in my students' composition, I will take it to class to read. To tell the truth, I have only done some honest things in guiding student literature societies over the years.
