Maoping town is a township-level administrative unit in Zigui County, Yichang City, Hubei Province. It is located on the south bank of Xiling Gorge of the Yangtze River, adjacent to the Three Gorges Dam Project. The town covers an area of 206 square kilometers and governs 18 villages, 3 communities and10 villagers' groups with a population of 85,362 (2023). Maoping town has a stable social order and a rapid economic development. With the help of "Four Zigui" (Coco Zigui, Cultural Zigui, Ecological Zigui and Happiness Zigui) and "Two Gardens and Three Districts" (Three Gorges Fanba Logistics Park, Hedong Ecological Industrial Park, the main city, Jingangcheng New District and Qu Yuan's hometown eco-cultural tourism).
