Ningbo Technician College, Ningbo Senior Technical School and Ningbo Technical School are comprehensive national key technical colleges with full budget at the municipal level. The school was founded in 1958 and rebuilt in 1978. In 2002, it was awarded the title of national advanced unit of vocational education, and in 2004, it was awarded the National Outstanding Contribution Award for Training Skilled Talents. It is a national training base for high-skilled talents (electromechanical engineering).

The school covers an area of 255 mu with a building area of 72,000 square meters. At present, there are six professional groups including mechanical technology, electrical and information technology, shipbuilding, automotive technology, application design and tertiary service, and more than 30 majors including mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, numerical control technology, mechatronics technology, mold design and manufacturing, product modeling and technical management, automotive electrical technology, shipbuilding technology, electrician and electronics, computer application and maintenance, welding, cooking, tour guide and e-commerce. There are nearly 100 practice and experiment places such as PLC comprehensive experiment (training) room, inverter experiment (training) room, simulation equipment electrical troubleshooting room, engine disassembly training room, automobile powertrain training room, automobile assembly training room, computer room, cooking training room, CNC machining workshop, tool and mold workshop, fitter workshop and sheet metal welding workshop. , with internship and experimental teaching equipment and enterprises. In 2007, there were 4,500 full-time students in the school, including 2,500 technicians and senior workshop students, with an average of 5,000 people trained and appraised every year.

This school has a very competitive faculty. Among the full-time teachers, there are more than 100 with technical positions of middle and senior teachers and professional qualifications of technicians and senior teachers.
