North Sichuan is the main raw material for producing auricularia auricula and Lentinus edodes, and it is also the only carbon raw material. It mainly grows in rocky mountains and crevices, with rough skin, leaves like chestnut cotyledons and single fruit like chestnut seeds. Children in mountainous areas like to play with it as a little top.

Auricularia auricula, which grows on the green bar tree, has better taste and richer nutrition than other trees, and is regarded as the best of delicacies.

Green bar trees are heavy and hard, and are often used as wedge nails in rural areas. They are also the main and best firewood for local farmers. They have the reputation that "there is no good fire except the green bar, and there are no good relatives except the mother", which is more common in the southwest. Green berries look like hazelnuts, so they are inedible and bitter.

A large amount of sap flows out of the trunk after being attacked by pests, which often attracts a large number of scarabs. Ganoderma lucidum will grow in autumn after stump rot, and Cyclobalanopsis glauca rarely grows.
