Of course, this is not really a pie in the sky, but because after more than a year, its landfill cover and landfill gas power generation project have finally been completed and put into operation, which can transmit120,000 kWh of electricity to East China Power Grid every year.

The core of this project-the contractor of special engine technology-is Shanghai Qiyao Power Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation 7 1 1 Research Institute, which has a history of 30 years of special engine research.

Special engine is a kind of closed cycle reciprocating engine that makes gas compress and expand periodically at different temperatures through external heating. The engine developed by the July 11th Research Institute is a new scientific research achievement with international standards. There are different types of generators that drive 20 kW and 100 kW respectively, which can use natural gas, diesel, solar energy and other solid fuels as power to generate electricity, and emit less pollution gas than other engines on the market at present.

At present, the engine has been successfully applied to our navy's new AIP submarine. Because it does not rely on air propulsion power plant, it greatly reduces the submarine noise, enables the submarine to sail underwater for a long time, and enhances the concealment of the submarine, thus greatly enhancing the combat strength of our navy.

Previously, this marine engine technology was only controlled by a few countries, but now it has been completely independently researched and developed, and it has been praised as a powerful "China Heart" at home and abroad.

The research on special engines has concentrated the efforts of R&D personnel of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation 7 1 1 Research Institute for decades. 1975, the special engine research room was established in No.71Research Institute of China Shipbuilding Industry Research Institute, and in June 1996, the special engine engineering research center was established. After tackling key problems in the Eighth Five-Year Plan and the Ninth Five-Year Plan, 12 key technologies were broken one after another. 1998, after successfully developing the first special engine prototype with completely independent intellectual property rights in China, they also successfully developed an engineering prototype, the overall level reached the international advanced level, and some technologies were in the international leading position.

During the development of special engines, July 11th took this opportunity to train a large number of technical backbones. From the beginning of the project, the research group only had more than 10, and now it has grown to more than 100. Advanced figures such as Shanghai model workers and young scientific and technological talents have emerged. It is this team that has been awarded the title of "Advanced Group for Pre-research" by the PLA General Armament Department for many times and "Shanghai Model Worker Group" twice.

In order to better promote the application of special engines, 7 1 1 Special Engine Engineering Research Center was transformed into Shanghai Qiyao Power Technology Co., Ltd., and a research and test base was built in Zhangjiang High-tech Park, Pudong, Shanghai. However, the recent closure of Hongmiaoling landfill in Fuzhou and the completion of landfill gas power generation project have made the application of this technology in the civil field more mature.
