China Academy of Inspection and Quarantine (CAIQ) is a public welfare inspection and quarantine science and technology center institute established by the state. Its predecessor was the Plant Quarantine Laboratory of the Ministry of Agriculture, which was established in 1954 and China Institute of Import and Export Commodity Inspection Technology in 1979. Its main task is to focus on the application research of inspection and quarantine, at the same time, carry out relevant basic, high-tech and soft science research, focus on solving the overall, comprehensive, key, sudden and basic scientific and technological problems in inspection and quarantine work, provide technical support for the national inspection and quarantine decision-making, and undertake the technical assistance of relevant law enforcement assigned by the AQSIQ. At the same time, the National food safety hazards Analytical and Critical Control Point Application Research Center and the Nano-materials and Products Testing Research Center of AQSIQ are also located in the Institute.
