What is the relationship between Fuyu and Songyuan?

On June 24, 2023, with the approval of the State Council, Fuyu County was abolished and Fuyu City was established at the county level, and the original administrative area remained unchanged. Fuyu City belongs to the jurisdiction of Jilin Province and is managed by Songyuan City.

Fuyu City covers an area of 4,658 square kilometers and governs 17 townships (12 towns) and 1 state farm. The total population is 770,000, of which the non-agricultural population is 376,000, accounting for 48.8% of the county's total population.
