How to Effectively Manage Casting Quality in Foundry Workshop

Casting is the process of pouring molten metal into a mold with a specific shape to form a metal material with a desired shape. It is a metal hot working technology mastered by human beings earlier, with a history of 6000 years. Casting plays an important role in industrial development and greatly promotes the development of human civilization. With the rapid development of modern society, the quality requirements of castings are getting higher and higher. How to ensure the quality of castings and how to effectively control the quality of castings are the contents discussed in this paper.

Quality management is the decisive factor for manufacturing enterprises in market competition [1], and foundry enterprises are no exception. Only with good quality assurance can enterprises be in an invincible position in the competition. TQM regards quality as a systematic engineering analysis, emphasizing that quality functions should be undertaken by all employees, and quality management should run through the whole process of design and manufacturing, and quality control is one of the important links of quality management [2]. As the main body of casting production, the casting workshop's staffing, equipment performance, technological process and management system will have a certain impact on casting quality. In order to effectively manage the quality of castings, improve the qualified rate of products and produce high-quality castings, this paper discusses the following aspects.

2 personnel management

The employees in the foundry workshop are the executors of casting production, and the quality of employees is directly related to the quality of casting production.

Starting with employees, first of all, when recruiting employees, we should choose high-quality talents related to foundry specialty, have a certain understanding of foundry technology and molding mechanism, and be able to quickly master our own work content. Secondly, employees should be systematically trained on a regular basis, combined with the development of new technologies and the strategies and objectives of enterprise development, so as to provide learning and training conditions and opportunities for enterprise talents, so that their own knowledge and skills can be continuously improved, and at the same time, they can also provide a stage for them to display their talents [3], so that employees can have a deeper understanding of their work content, constantly improve their professional level and working ability, always master the relatively advanced casting technology at present, and constantly improve their own process design level and product quality. Thirdly, cultivate employees' rigorous and serious working attitude, and let employees realize that casting quality is the lifeline of enterprises, so as to complete every job in strict accordance with safety production standards. Fourthly, a reasonable and effective incentive mechanism can stimulate the enthusiasm of employees, consciously improve their working ability and sense of responsibility, and produce high-quality castings. Fifth, only by cultivating the team spirit of employees can the team spirit be truly brought into play, thus improving the work quality and efficiency of the team. Sixth, the development of enterprises needs to be continuous.
