General optical cable welding steps:
Step 1: Strip the cable; When stripping the optical cable, straighten both ends of the optical cable first. Generally, a utility knife is used to peel off the cable protective layer from 80 cm to 100 cm at the end of the cable, and remove the coreless tape group, leaving a reinforced core of 100 cm for fixing the cable.
Step 2: repair; Fix the stripped optical cable on the fixing equipment of the connector box, open the optical cable connector box, unscrew the screw and put the optical cable on the fixing equipment. The tape set should be placed clockwise and horizontally with the optical fiber disc to ensure that the fiber core will not be damaged. The optical cable should be fixed firmly, and the reinforced core should be bent 90 degrees to prevent the fiber core from being damaged;
Step 3: melting fibers; After fixing the optical cable, peel off the protective layer of the fiber core at the standard position. When disassembling, take off the protective layer of the fiber core with one hand, wipe the fiber core with the other hand and put it in a standard place. After arranging all fiber cores, put a heat shrink tube on each fiber core. Take out the welding machine and other equipment and tools, turn on the welding machine, and strip the optical fiber with the optical fiber stripping pliers. After peeling a fiber core, gently pull it to check whether the fiber core is in good condition. In the process of welding, to ensure the fiber core is clean, wipe the fiber core with alcohol, and then use the cutter. The cross section of the processed fiber core should be clean and tidy to ensure the success of fused fiber. In the case of unclear core wires of receiving and sending optical fibers, they should be welded in the standard order of optical fiber core wires (blue, orange, green, brown, gray, white, red, black, yellow, purple, light pink and light blue). When using the welding machine, the operation should be standardized, and the protective cover should be covered after the fiber core is put in, so as to prevent the dust from falling into it and causing the fused fiber to fail. The loss rate of molten core is less than 0.03dB.
Step four: coiling the fiber; According to the specifications of the optical fiber disc, put the fused fiber core into the optical fiber disc and fix it. The radian of the fiber core should be greater than 15 times of the diameter of the optical cable to avoid damaging the fiber core.
Finally, seal the joint box, check whether the equipment and tools are complete and in good condition, and clean up the garbage on site.
Common shortcomings in testing:
1 Cable stripping can't grasp the cutting force well, and cutting the cable for many times may cause damage to the fiber core in the belt group;
2. When fixing the optical cable to the connector box, the bending degree of the reinforcing core is not standardized, and the fiber core ribbon group is not placed clockwise during fixing;
The method of removing the protective layer of the fiber core is not standardized, and the retention length of the fiber core is not set according to the specifications of the fiber disc;
4. The process of fiber stripping is unstable, and each fiber core is stripped, and whether the fiber core is damaged or not is not checked;
5 unreasonable placement of fiber core during welding, improper operation when welding fiber core and heating heat shrinkable tube, resulting in fiber core being dirty;
6 In the process of fused fiber, the fiber core is put into the welding machine without a protective cover;
Requirements: Practice more fusion fiber technology. Practice cable stripping, fiber stripping and fiber cutting, and fix optical cables with fused fiber and winding. Be familiar with the feeling of cable stripping, the strength of fiber stripping, the method of fiber cutting, the technology of fixing optical cables in fused fiber and the standardization of winding.
