The Spanish major of Beijing Foreign Studies University was established in 1952, and the master's degree is in 1979. With the approval of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee 1996, it was awarded a doctorate, becoming the first Spanish doctoral program in China. The Spanish major has a long history and has a first-class faculty recognized by the whole country. There are 2 doctoral supervisors, 5 professors, 8 associate professors, lecturers and teaching assistants, and 2 foreign teachers.

PS: The Spanish Department of Nanjing University was established in 1964, and the master's degree was established in 1992.
