Water resources of Wujiang River

1. The annual runoff of Wujiang River is relatively stable, and the upstream has the conditions to build the leading reservoir of Hongjiadu Hydropower Station, which can be adjusted for many years, while the middle reaches have Wujiangdu Hydropower Station, Goupitan Hydropower Station can be adjusted for many years, and the output can be improved after the cascade transportation. Therefore, the power quality is high and the power generation can be balanced all year round;

2. Wujiang River Basin has good topographic and geological conditions, and belongs to canyon reservoirs and power stations, with less land inundation and resettlement, relatively less engineering quantity, shorter construction period and less investment;

3. The geographical location is moderate, and it is close to the power load center. It is a good power supply point for "power transmission from west to east". Goupitan Hydropower Station can also play the role of supporting power supply in the national network. Together with the construction of Silin and Shatuo hydropower stations, it will form a hydropower group for "power transmission from west to east" in eastern Guizhou.

4. Wujiang river basin is rich in mineral resources, with many varieties, high grade and large reserves, among which the reserves of aluminum, phosphorus and manganese ore account for 18%, 19% and 11% of the whole country respectively, and cheap electric energy can promote the development of mineral resources;

5. Developing the shipping industry of Wujiang River, expanding the area of agricultural irrigation and building power stations to form reservoirs can also promote the development of tourism;
